The Ministry of State for Natural Disaster Management of the caretaker government has announced that the death toll from recent floods in the country has risen to 66 in recent days.
The statement said on Tuesday that 66 people have lost their lives due to recent floods, and 36 others have been injured.
According to the Ministry of State for Natural Disaster Management, as a result of these floods, 600 head of cattle have been killed, and 235 houses have been destroyed.
Moreover, the United Nations offices in Afghanistan have emphasized that they will work to provide permanent housing for flood-affected people to address their urgent needs.
This comes as rainfall and floods in recent days have caused the collapse of house roofs, landslides, road destruction, and the loss of dozens of lives.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has also reported that the recent floods in the country have claimed the lives of 32 people and left 44 others injured.
