Turkish Airlines announced that it will resume its flights to Afghanistan starting from May 21 of this year.
Anadolu Agency of Turkey reported on Tuesday, April 30th, the commencement of the airline’s flights to Afghanistan.
According to reports, Turkish Airlines will operate flights between Kabul and Istanbul and vice versa four times a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
It is noteworthy that Turkish airlines, like several other countries, had suspended their activities in Afghanistan following the resurgence of the Taliban.
Previously, some foreign airlines, including Emirates, Iran, and Pakistan, had announced the commencement of their operations in Afghanistan.
Turkish Airlines was established in 1933 by the order of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. As part of the country’s Ministry of Defense, it operates flights to more than 200 international airports worldwide.
Meanwhile, Kam Air and Ariana Afghan Airlines operate flights from Kabul to Dubai, Moscow, Islamabad, and Istanbul.
International flights to Kabul were halted on August 15, 2021, following the withdrawal of international forces and the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.
