A delegation led by Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan today, Monday, 15th April, for a two-day visit.
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated in a press release that the Saudi delegation is entering Pakistan to discuss enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries and will be there from the fifteenth to the sixteenth of April.
The spokesperson for the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Bin Farhan will be accompanied on this two-day official visit by a delegation comprising ministers of agriculture, industry, and mining, the deputy minister of investment, senior officials from the Ministry of Energy, and representatives from the Saudi Public Investment Fund.
Bin Farhan is expected to meet with the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, and the Chairman of Pakistan’s Special Council for Investment Facilitation during his visit to Islamabad.
The spokesperson for the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has further announced that this visit is aimed at expediting and following up on recent agreements between Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during their recent meeting in Mecca to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
Pakistani officials have stated that Saudi Arabia has pledged to invest up to $25 billion in various sectors of Pakistan over the next five years.
