AN Escape to the Country house hunter broke down in tears and was left speechless while searching for their dream home.
On the latest episode of the BBC show, host Jules Hudson was tasked with helping a couple who had a very specific requirement find their forever home in the Scottish meadows.
During the Escape to the Country instalment, viewers were introduced to Michael and Maryan.
The duo, who had an eye-watering budget of around £650k wanted to move from the Isle of Wight to a rural location where they could start their own mountain biking business.
Jules showed them three spectacular properties in Scotland’s stunning Cairngorms as the show progressed.
However, Maryan revealed early on that due to already living in a bungalow, she wanted a staircase in her future dream home, which she already envisioned having more than one floor.
Bearing that in mind, Jules jetted off to find the couple properties that ticked all their boxes.
The first property, Michael and Maryan, were shown was located in the Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey.
The house instantly blew the couple away before they even stepped in.
As they arrived at their potential future home, Michael said: “Wow, it’s a castle on a hill!”
Maryan then asked: “Is this more than one property here?”
Jules then explained to the couple that it was actually all one home.
The duo were eager to see the inside, but Maryan started getting emotional as they walked in.
Pointing out the grand wooden staircase, she choked up and said: “I’ve got quite an emotional staircase! That’s something else, I can’t talk.”
The property expert then revealed that it was only the hallway, to which Marayn replied: “I know, I’m not going to be able to cope.”
As the couple walked around the massive home, they remained speechless, even after learning that it was on the market for offers over £560,000.
Michael then exclaimed: “We can buy a yacht as well! Have a business, have the house, we’re done.”
However, when Jules showed the couple the mystery 10-acre property in Muir of Fowlis, they were they were sold.
Included in the property were various outbuildings, acres of countryside for their business, greenhouses, a shed, a pool, a reception room and even a sauna.
When it came to making their final decisions, Jules suggested that the mystery property might still be on their minds.
Michael responded: “I think what the mystery house allows us to do is actually build our dreams and put our stamp on it, and we’re ready to do that, the next chapter for us is to build that new life while we still can.”
“The uniqueness of it, the house has got so many elements to it, from the pool to the little rooms,” said Maryan.
She added: “We’ve done it before with houses, and we can do it again with that and make it into something really quite cool, run and hopefully have the business on the back of it as well.”
On a separate Escape to the Country episode, fans were floored after they learned of one young couple’s ‘obscene’ budget for their first home together.
Ultimately, the first-time buyers told the BBC host that their forever home needed to be a detached property with four bedrooms, a practical utility room for muddy boots and paws, and a huge kitchen.
Even though nothing was extraordinary about their expectations for their future home, their budget left fans gobsmacked.
The presenter revealed: “Each on the property ladder already, by cashing in they have a healthy budget of £850,000 for their first house together.”
However, despite Briony showing them some stunning properties, Anna and Jack didn’t make an offer on any of the homes.
As the episode concluded, it was revealed that the couple had decided to buy a home in Hertfordshire instead to be closer to friends and family.
