A SAVVY mum has left some people surprised after revealing the results of her bulk buy price comparison of Costco and B&M.
The Budgeting Mum took to her TikTok page to share a video detailing the price differences, beginning with a pack of Fairy Non Bio washing pods.
A savvy mum has compared the bulk buy prices at B&M and Costco, starting with some Fairy Non Bio pods[/caption] But in Costco they worked out at 21p each[/caption] Tins of Heinz Baked Beans also worked out cheaper in Costco[/caption]While they worked out at 21p per wash in B&M, they were 18p a wash in Costco.
Fruit Shoots were up next – they cost 30p each in B&M and 21p each in Costco.
Heinz Baked beans were 68p in Costco and 83p a can in B&M, while a 100g pot of Douwe Egberts coffee granules was £5.79 in B&M – compared to 400g for £10.49 in Costco.
“Is bulk buying worth it?” the Budgeting Mum captioned her video.
“I’ve compared some prices of Costco items with the larger packs you can buy in B&M to see if it’s worth it.
“And I think if you have the room to store it, then it is!”
“This was so helpful as sometimes in Costco it’s so hard to see the value of the saving,” one person commented on the video.
“I agree! Especially because it can seem expensive but actually when you look at the saving, it’s worth the initial cost!” the Budgeting Mum replied.
“I’ve found since shopping at Costco, there’s many things that are worth buying in bulk but some you’re better getting in B&M or Food Warehouse,” another added.
As a third commented: “Remember to factor in the yearly fee and the distance to get to a Costco too as there aren’t as many around.”
“Their petrol/diesel is around 10p a litre cheaper as well,” someone else said.
Others questioned whether or not she’d added the VAT to her Costco comparison prices, which she insisted she had.
She concluded by saying if you have the space to store the bulk buy items, it’s worth getting them[/caption] As Costco was overall cheaper than B&M on this occasion[/caption]
