Billy Butler, one of few A’s who hits Chris Sale OK, out sick
Billy Butler, Oakland’s best hitter against White Sox ace Chris Sale, is out of the lineup Saturday with a stomach illness.
According to manager Bob Melvin, Butler had nausea and vomiting.
Jed Lowrie, who is on the DL with a foot injury, is a .412 hitter against Sale.
All the rest of Oakland’s right-handed hitters are in against Sale, including recent addition Brett Eibner, who was 2 for 3 against Sale while playing for the Royals.
