Why Cardinals fans hate Giants’ Cueto, plus awaiting word on Pence, and lineup
ST. LOUIS — Good afternoon from Busch Stadium, where we hope to learn the extent of Hunter Pence’s hamstring injury and prognosis a little later.
On Aug. 10, 2010, a nasty brawl occurred between the Cardinals and Reds at Great American Ball Park.
The original beef was between Brandon Phillips and Yadier Molina, but it spilled into an all-out team-on-team fight around home plate.
At one point, the scrum moved toward the screen behind the plate and Cueto was pinned.
LaRue insisted in a St. Louis Post-Dispatch column last year that while he still feels the effects of the concussions (plural) that he had over his career, he held no grudge against Cueto.
Cueto is trying to become the Giants’ first nine-game winner and win is sixth straight decision.
Note the Giants have six left-handed hitters in the lineup, including four in a row after righties Matt Duffy and Buster Posey hit back to back.
