KB Homes shares advanced in the extended session Tuesday after the homebuilder's quarterly results topped Wall Street estimates. KB Homes shares advanced 2.3% to $14.88 after hours. The company reported second-quarter earnings of 17 cents a share on revenue of $811.1 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had estimated earnings of 14 cents a share on revenue of $753.4 million.

Shares of HP Inc. shot higher late Tuesday after the hardware company raised its expectations for the third quarter. HP said in a filing it expects adjusted net earnings of 43 cents to 46 cents a share for the quarter. The company said last month third-quarter adjusted earnings would hover around 37 cents to 40 cents a share.
