Heumensoord sluit: nog maar 200 vluchtelingen over

Tentenkamp Heumensoord bij Nijmegen stroomt deze week heel snel leeg. Van de bijna drieduizend vluchtelingen die in de paviljoens verbleven zijn er nog maar zo'n tweehonderd over. Bewoners zijn over heel Nederland verspreid naar noodopvanglocaties en asielzoekerscentra. Volgens het Centraal Orgaan opvang asielzoekers (COA) vertrekken de laatste bewoners begin volgende week. Voorzieningen als de school, de peuteropvang en de bibliotheek zijn al gesloten.

Global stocks rise on US stocks' gains and weaker yen

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Global stocks were mostly higher Thursday, after U.S. stocks were lifted by an uptick in oil prices. A weakening of the Japanese yen pushed Tokyo's benchmark 2.7 percent higher.

Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 ended 2.7 percent higher at 17,363.62, as exporters' shares gained, since a weaker yen usually tends to boost their profits.
