Small businesses may get three years without inspections: what Bektenov instructed
Tengrinews.kz — Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has instructed the Ministry of National Economy to prepare proposals for a three-year moratorium on inspections of micro and small businesses within two weeks.
The ministry is to discuss the implementation of the moratorium, effective from January 1, 2027, with the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, the business ombudsman, and members of parliament. Bektenov announced this today during a government meeting.
"Our goal is to minimize the administrative burden on entrepreneurs and eliminate excessive interference in their activities," the Prime Minister said.
Proposals for the potential moratorium must be submitted to the government within two weeks. Currently, the initiative is under discussion, and no final decision has been made.
Yesterday, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev suggested that the government and Kurultai deputies discuss introducing a three-year moratorium starting January 1, 2027. The Head of State urged officials to consider both the positive and negative aspects of previous experience.
The previous moratorium on small business inspections was in effect from January 1, 2020, to January 1, 2024. It prohibited inspections and on-site preventive control, though it included several exceptions.
