“Lost their way”: rescuers bring two teenagers down from the mountains in Almaty Region

Tengrinews.kz - In the Karasai District, near Big Almaty Peak at an altitude of 3,680 meters, rescuers from Almaty’s Monitoring and Rapid Response Center assisted two teenagers born in 2008, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The teenagers lost their way while descending the mountain.

“Rescuers found them and escorted them to the Ayu-Sai dam. The teenagers did not require medical assistance. They were then met by their relatives and taken back to the city,” the ministry said.

Rescuers reminded hikers that before heading into the mountains, it is important to plan the route in advance, take weather conditions into account and inform relatives about the location and expected return time.
