Scholarships in Kazakhstan in 2027 - how much students will receive

Tengrinews.kz — What will student stipends for undergraduate, graduate, and other levels look like in 2027? The Ministry of Science and Higher Education provided the details.
Student stipends in 2027
In response to an official inquiry from Tengrinews.kz, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education reported that as of January 1, 2027, state scholarship amounts will remain unchanged from the 2025–2026 levels.
Students will receive the following monthly rates:

Undergraduate students: 52,372 tenge;
State-funded education majors: 84,000 tenge;
Master's students: 117,098 tenge;
Master's students and medical residents in Healthcare: 134,664 tenge;Doctoral students: 262,500 tenge.

Merit-based increased stipends
Undergraduate and graduate students who receive only "excellent" marks in their mid-term assessments will be eligible for an increased stipend. This amount is 15 percent higher than the standard rate.
Accounting for the 15 percent increase over the base rate, the increased stipends will be:

Undergraduate students: 60,228 tenge;
State-funded education majors: 96,600 tenge;
Master's students: 134,663 tenge;
Master's students and residents in Healthcare: 154,864 tenge.

Higher stipends are also provided for specific categories:

Students with visual or hearing impairments: an additional 75 percent of the base stipend;;Orphans and children left without parental care: an additional 30 percent..

Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek previously discussed plans to continue increasing stipends over the next five years. Specifically, the ministry aims to raise doctoral stipends to over 500,000 tenge per month by 2030. Read more at the link.
As a reminder, Kazakhstan the five-year stipend increase program concluded. However, during a government briefing in March 2026, Minister Sayasat Nurbek stated that there are plans to resume it.
