Davey Grant recovered from a broken jaw to knockout Martin Day at UFC 251[/caption]And UFC’s president may well have had to cough up the fifty grand early doors for fight of the night after the stunning KO.
The British star is believed to have broken his jaw in the opening exchanges of his fight with Day.
But he recovered to stop the Hawaiian in the third and final round with a vicious left hook.
Grant was dropped himself in the first and appeared to be on his way out of the clash.
But after taking the fight to the mat in the second, he began to take control.
And he finished it with stunning left in the final round to earn the win.
Grant was then caught talking to White afterwards, and he confirmed he had broken his jaw and wanted the $50k bonus.
White did not seem too bothered by the County Durham fighter’s cheekiness.
And he replied by telling him: “We’ll get you figured out kid.”
This was Grant’s second straight win since signing for White.
The father of three gained the decision over Grigorii Popov at UFC Moscow in November last time out.
