Paulo Costa will be keeping a close eye on UFC 248’s headliner title fight between Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero.
Middleweight contender Paulo Costa is already preparing to face the winner of UFC 248’s 185-pound title fight between Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero. “Borrachinha” says he will also keep a close eye on the action, particularly on the reigning champion.
“I’ll be there to see if Adesanya can beat Romero like I did. Everybody wants to see that, if he can beat Romero or not,” he told MMA Fighting. “I believe Adesanya himself feels he has to prove he can beat Romero, too, so I’ll be there watching.”
“I’ll be able to train everything. I’ll be there, front row, at UFC 248. Let’s see who’s next,” he added.
Costa defeated the “Soldier of God” via unanimous decision at UFC 241 in August, which warranted a Fight of the Night bonus. He was supposed to be the next in line to challenge “The Last Stylebender,” but a bicep injury kept him on the shelf.
UFC 248 takes place on Saturday, March 7th, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
