Recently the Biden Administration announced a pause in sending certain bombs to Israel. It was in response to Israel’s refusal to hold up the invasion of Rafah in south Gaza. There are concerns that the attack on Rafah where 1.4 million Palestinians are sheltering would inflict a catastrophic blow to the civilians. Most of them had previously fled from indiscriminate bombing of targets in north Gaza. When quiet diplomacy did not work, President Biden went public with his opposition to attacking Rafah. His frustration with Israeli Prime Minister was palpable.
