DEAR DR. THOMPSON: We have a 7-year-old black lab/pointer mix who was diagnosed with MMM. She’s currently on a second course of prednisone. She’s doing well as far as eating, drinking, and playing. In order for Abby to be boarded so we can take a vacation, at the very least she needs to have the following vaccines: leptospirosis, bordetella, and rabies. Our vet only advised the rabies. Is there research as to what would happen if we choose to give her the other two vaccines? Appreciate your input. Thank you.
