A SPECIALIST squad of cops is monitoring more than 150 stalkers like Baby Reindeer’s “real-life Martha Scott”.
The number of “high-risk” suspects under review went from five in 2020 to ten last year, figures show.
Another 108 referred to the Met Police’s Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC) for monitoring were deemed to be moderate risk and 43 low threat.
The unit assesses stalkers fixated with people from all levels of society, including royals.
It comes after Scottish “stalker” Fiona Harvey, 58 — who plans to sue Netflix over her characterisation in Baby Reindeer — was referred to the squad in 2021.
She sent Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer 276 emails in eight months and also mocked murdered Labour MP Jo Cox.
It is not known which risk category she was placed in, but her case remains “under review”.
Ex-Met cop Dai Davies, who worked with the FTAC, said: “I’m not surprised more than 150 cases are being monitored — and that’s just the known ones. About five to ten per cent of them are usually dangerous, but most are just a nuisance.”
Harvey was not named in Baby Reindeer and Jessica Gunning played Martha Scott.
It is said she also plans to sue show creator Richard Gadd and the Daily Mail.
She declined to comment on her Sir Keir emails.
The Met declined to comment.
