ALDI has done the un-brie-lievable and created a mac ’n’ cheese flavour pizza.
The budget supermarket has combined the two popular takeaway dishes into one – and shoppers are desperate for a slice of the action.
Aldi has done away with a traditional tomato sauce base for its Mac ’N’ Cheese Pizza.
Instead, a creamy cheddar sauce has been spread all over the the dough.
The pizza is topped off with handfuls of macaroni, sprinklings of both cheddar and mozzarella cheese and finished with a herby tomato stuffed crust.
Food reviewer Gareth Morgan, who goes by the name Bald Foodie Guy, admits he was initially baffled by the £2.99 invention.
He said: “Who would put pasta on a pizza? We have pasta and pizza, but separately? Aldi just thought, ‘Let’s just stick it all on one pizza!’”
Giving his verdict, the Barrow-based foodie added: “It’s very, very cheesy. I like cheese and I like the amount of cheese that is on that pizza.
“It’s very doughy. It’s everything on a pizza that’s bad for you!
“If you love cheese then I definitely think this is going to be one for you.”
Sharing their thoughts on X, another Aldi shopper admitted: “I got this as a joke for the wife, tasted surprisingly good actually…”
Someone else added: “This could be amazing to come home to after a good night out.”
But one customer gave it a thumbs down.
He said: “NO pizza needs Macaroni on it! Tried that creation and to get the pizza base crisp meant the macaroni was cremated!!!!!!!”
Aldi’s Mac ’N’ Cheese Pizza is limited edition and is from the supermarket’s Carlos pizza range.
It is described as: “Tomato sauce stuffed crust pizza base topped wth a creamy cheddar cheese sauce, macaroni, grated mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese.”
The 540g pizza is currently on sale in stores nationwide for £2.99.

Stick to own-label
The shopping expert also explained that Aldi keeps costs low by limiting the bulk of its merchandise to its private-label brands.
“These products offer great quality at a lower price than competitors,” he said.
“While there are some branded products on sale, such as Coca-Cola, I find Aldi’s own versions nearly always just as good and cheaper.
“One of my favourites is Aldi cheese puffs rather than Wotsits.”
Shop new stock
Generally, Tom explained that Aldi restocks regular items on Wednesdays and speciality products are restocked on Sundays.
“Plan your shopping trips on these days to take advantage of new stock arrivals,” he said.
“Or, shop the evenings before when unsold previous stock may be reduced to clear.”
Try dupes
Aldi is known for its cheeky dupes of branded goods, from its take on Jaffa Cakes and Gordon’s Gin to its own version of Mini Cheddars.
Tom said: “You can also find dupes for designer perfumes such as Jo Malone and beauty products such as Clinique.”
Aldi’s Jo Malone Dupe and Colin the Caterpillar dupe have gone down well with fans in the past.
Look for red stickers
Tom said: “Keep an eye out for red stickers that indicate extra savings on products.
“Unlike Tesco and Sainsbury’s that use yellow stickers for reduced-to-clear items, Aldi’s are red.
“And they’re generally applied in the mornings rather than the evenings (more similar to M&S).”
Get the Super 6
The shopping expert said that every two weeks Aldi picks six fruits and vegetables and reduces them to a silly low price.
“Right now it has aubergine 59p each, six apples 69p, bag of pears 79p, 1kg potatoes 89p, 100g babycorn 89p, and five oranges 99p.”
Of course, prices and stock will vary from store to store so do bear that in mind.
But the 9.5-inch pie does contain a whopping 1.400 calories, which is more than half of the recommended daily amount for both men and women.
Aldi declined to comment.
Chicago Town launched a mac and cheese pizza in 2018, but it no longer appears to be on sale.
At Pizza Hut fans could get hold of the same flavour pie the year before, but again is no longer available.
For a brief period last year they could get their hands on a mac and cheese stuffed crust option, but this was for a limited time only.
The discounter isn’t the only supermarket selling wild and wacky pizzas.
Heinz brought back a “banging” pizza flavour that hoppers spotted in Iceland’s freezers.
The Beanz & Sausage Pizza had fans declaring the 90s is back after the classic returned.
Fans of Christmas dinner can usually find the ingredients added as a pizza topping over the festive season at various supermarkets.
Dominos briefly had a doner kebab pizza on its menu, while Asda’s controversial attempt at a southern fried chicken and GRAVY pizza was branded ‘sick’.
Meanwhile the traditional pizza flavour has infiltrated other foods.
Walkers last year launched a Pepperoni Feast flavour of Max crisps and Texan BBQ with Pizza Hut.
Doritos had a Loaded Pepperoni Pizza flavour snack in its range.
Shoppers managed to pick up a pack for just 25p instead of £2.50, suggesting they were not to evereyone’s taste.
