DOWNSIZERS have sung the praises of going small, but one person isn’t quite so happy with their move to a tiny home.
They admitted to feeling trapped and complained about power mishaps while using the kitchen.

“Because of some really shi**y circumstances, I am living in a 480 square foot home at the moment,” they said.
They explained how the whole house consists of two rooms.
“One main room and a bathroom/closet/storage, which is surprisingly large,” they said.
The small home was giving them a headache.
“The space was not meant to be a home, so it has one sink for everything – a utility sink that I installed,” they said.
There also wasn’t much privacy in the tiny pad.
“There are no real separations regarding the sleeping space and the living/kitchen space,” they said.
The lack of space forced them to get inventive.
This included incorporating “room dividers” and getting creative with cookware.
“I have small versions of everything,” they said.
They installed an “apartment-sized” fridge that was just five and a half feet tall.
The kitchen also features more compact versions of an oven, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, and portable convection stovetop.
While they’ve tried to make things easier, challenges still arise.

Magic Kitchen Mini Fridge, $179, Home Depot
“Because it was not meant to be a home, if I need to bake something at the same time I need to run the dishwasher, the power goes off and I need to go outside to reset the breaker,” they said.
“I thought by making it my own space I’d be happy, but I think because of the circumstances, I really hate it,” they continued.
“I work from home and live where there is no other season but hot, humid summer, so going outside to work is not really an option. I just feel so trapped in here.”
Commernters could also understand the small home struggle.
“Totally relate to the trapped feeling of work from home from a tiny house,” wrote one user.
“That’s why having some outdoor space is great, but living somewhere hot makes it hard to utilize that space year-round. I think the power problems you have would drive me crazy.”
If you also need to make the most of your space, Home Depot sells a Magic Chef mini-fridge which is currently on sale for $179.
The item is described as featuring removable glass shelves and a clear produce crisper.
It also offers a reversible door which gives “multiple options for placement in a room.”
