CORONATION Street fans have rumbled who could be Nathan Curtis’ attacker amid his shock beating on the show.
Fans have watched as the sinister character, played by Christopher Harper, has re-appeared on the cobbles amid the hunt for missing Lauren Bolton.
Nathan originally appeared in the show as a part of a harrowing storyline which saw him groom Bethany Platt and offer her up for sex with his mates.
Bethany was left disgusted when she realised that her her attacker had been freed from jail and had found work close to where she lives.
She has also become obsessed with the idea that he is responsible for Lauren’s disappearance as a result of his previous crimes and the fact her was seen lurking nearby the reconstruction of her last known movements.
Bethany took the information to the police but they concluded Nathan had no role to play and the only connection he had to Lauren was that he subscribes to her O-Vidz account, an OnlyFans style platform.
Despite Daniel ordering Nathan to skip town, in last night’s episode he was still seen with a smile on his face and working in Weatherfield.
However, in a shock twist, Nathan was later attacked by a mystery assailant.
Nathan had had run-ins with Gary and Daniel earlier in the day as well as being in the bad books of Bethany’s uncle David and former romantic interest Ryan.
In the scenes, the hooded figure appeared to strike Nathan over the head with it later being confirmed that he was in hospital as a result of the blow.
Fans have already begun to have their say on who they think it could be with many arguing that the height of the hooded figure gave it away.
Coronation Street fans insisted it must be someone small as a result of the height and build of the person which led to speculation that Gary and David were the most likely suspects.
Writing online, one fan said: “[It’s] Someone small unless Nathan is a giant.”
Another followed up with: “David was a little person!”
Others speculated Gary with one insisting: “Gary – I can spot them skinny legs anywhere.”
With a fourth writing: “Gary Windass he’s got a violent side to him.”
Whilst Gary and Ryan were both seen sporting hoodies, similar to that of the attacker, David was discovered to have lots of blood on his jeans in the aftermath.
Fans will have to tune in to see the identity of the attacker revealed in due course.
