ANY parent will know the extortionate expense that goes with having children.
And arguably one of the priciest times as a mum is having to shell out for loads of equipment ahead of giving birth.
Camilla and husband Jamie Jewitt announced the arrival of baby Brodie earlier this month[/caption]While ex Love Islander Camilla Thurlow has already had two daughters, she wanted to get a new cot for her newborn son Brodie, and had been eyeing up the £1,395 Snoo bassinet.
The ‘smart sleeper’ cot was designed by Dr. Harvey Karp, and “quickly aids a baby’s sleep by responding to fussing with soothing white noise and motion”.
However, the price tag made Camilla think twice – especially when there was no guarantee her Brodie would get on with the Snoo.
So instead of forking out over a thousand pounds for one, she decided to hire it monthly.
Camilla took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday night, as she responded to the questions she’d received from people asking how she was getting on with the Snoo.
“I don’t think it’s going to be quite right for me,” she said.
“But that’s the beauty of renting it on a monthly basis as now we can return it at the end of this month!”
While Camilla didn’t reveal where she’d hired the Snoo from, there are several places that offer the service, including Baboodle, who charge £97 a month.
The new mum-of-three went on to add that Brodie is “happiest sleeping either in our arms or in his Snuzpod Studio, which is what I use downstairs”.
“I move it between rooms depending on where we all are but it’s mainly in the kitchen,” she added.
“So I think I’ll get a Snuzpod for upstairs, as the bed is an ottoman.”
The Snuzpod Studio is still pricey, at £149, but vastly cheaper than the Snoo.
Camilla and husband Jamie Jewitt – who famously met on Love Island – announced the arrival of baby Brodie earlier this month.
“Sharing pictures of their full brood on Instagram, Camilla wrote: “And just like that.. we are a family of 5.
