The natural predator is incredibly adept at hiding in plain sight thanks to its ability to stay camouflaged in its natural habitat.
As the snow fails to cover the entire surface area of the brown mountains, the leopard does not stand out as much.
Despite their name, snow leopards are not entirely white.
The big cats have a thick beige coat featuring the iconic leopard print in darker brown.
Had the mountains been entirely snow-covered when Vial took his photograph, the leopard would have been easy to spot as its coat would have been visible against the white background.
But, the patches of brown from the rocks against the snow in the brain teaser mean that the mountains themselves have a leopard-print look.
