THEY’VE spent ages turning their garden into a perfect, tranquil paradise.
So when it came to finding a mirror to complete their outside area, it had to be the right one.
A homeowner has shared how they found the perfect garden mirror from Home Bargains[/caption] They’d nabbed other bargains from places like The Range and B&M[/caption]And one homeowner has revealed they found the perfect mirror – for less than £25.
Sharing pictures of their garden on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, they wrote: “Been looking for a garden mirror for a while at a good price.
“This one is the perfect price for £24.99!
“So pleased with it from Home Bargains!”
Adding that they’d also picked up garden accessories from The Range and B&M, they concluded: “Now just for the sunshine!”
“I’ve had this for two years, it’s brill!” one person commented on the post.
“Looks wonderful!” another added.
“I have that mirror in my hall!” a third revealed.
“I was looking at that mirror in black,” someone else said.
“It looks lovely, may have to buy!”
While another, who’d also picked up one of the mirrors, added: “It’s brilliant for the price – doesn’t feel cheap like some of the other ones in other shops.”
“Wow what a beautiful area you have created, so cosy!” someone else praised.
“Love the mirror!”
“Beautiful,” another wrote, adding: “Just be really careful where you position it in the garden because of sun reflection and fire hazard.”
Garden design expert Fiona Jenkins from MyJobQuote.co.uk has created a guide on how to make your small garden look larger.
Add shelves – for additional storage and place to hold more plants.
Use foldaway furniture – to take up less space when not in use.
Add privacy – with fencing, trellis, brick walls or hedging.
Add a water feature – to make your garden seem like a natural retreat.
Go bright – when choosing plants, opt for bold colours to make the space pop.
Use large planters – to get more plants in less space.
Plant vertically – add plants upwards to make your garden seem fuller, and therefore, bigger.
Use blue flowers at the edges – blue flowers and plants recede into the distance and make the garden appear bigger.
Grow tall plants – it’s better to think big when it comes to a small garden.
Keep clutter a minimum – as it can give the illusion of less space than there actually is.
Mirrors are often used by people to make a garden seem bigger, with the pros at Sloane & Sons saying: “Perfect for improving outdoor spaces, mirrors introduce a magical dimension, whether in small patios or vast green areas.”
They’re also often a budget-friendly way to update a tired-looking garden.
However, once again they stressed the importance of choosing the correct position for a garden mirror.
“Ideally, position it against a surface facing inward, like a wall, fence, or shed,” they explained.
“This placement maximises the illusion of depth and space in your garden.
“Be mindful of birds and avoid placing mirrors too high or in their flight path.
“Also, steer clear of areas with direct sunlight to prevent potential fire hazards.”
