AN Insta-worthy green lawn that’s free of weeds and bald patches can be easily achieved, says an expert.
He shared the key steps gardeners should take for lush green grass ahead of summer.

Proper lawn care is “at the heart” of ensuring the space is a beautiful backdrop for group photos.
Clint DeBoer is the Editor-in-Chief of the online publication Pro Tool Reviews, which specializes in information about power tools.
He revealed to The U.S. Sun the tips he swears by for immaculate lawn maintenance.
DeBoer said removing weeds that grow throughout lawns is “easier” than many people think.
He shared his favorite hack as he warned homeowners not to use harsh chemicals as they can impact lawn health and wildlife.
“Instead, use a gardening hand fork to remove larger weeds and prevent them from growing again,” he said.
“Spring is also a great time to scarify your lawn.”
Scarify refers to the process of cutting and removing debris from lawns.
“Using a dedicated tool or even a flexible rake, clear out matting from the grass to help it breathe and be more receptive to organic fertilizer,” DeBoer said.
Many Amazon customers have bought a hand-weeding fork over the past month.
The tool, priced at $15.99, is “sharp and sturdy” with three prongs for loosening roots to remove weeds.
Happy shoppers have given it a 4.7-star rating out of a possible 5.
“If your lawn has bare patches in certain areas, it can make the surface look unhealthy which isn’t an aesthetically pleasing look,” DeBoer said.
“To fix this, loosen up the bare patch with a stiff garden rake or fork and sprinkle topsoil over the area.
“Then, either plug it or scatter the seed throughout depending upon the type of grass – we plug St. Augustine and seed fescue, for example.
“Finally, pat the area with your feet to compact it and water it regularly.
“Within a few weeks, the grass should start to regrow and spread, and your lawn will look fuller and healthier.”
Tony Williams is the Estate Manager at Mount Ephraim Country House & Gardens in the UK.
He revealed to The U.S. Sun the best organic remedies for getting rid of weeds.
Two ingredient mix: “Mix four liters of vinegar, 250 grams of salt, and a tablespoon of soap for a potent weed killer,” he said.
Lemon juice: “Whether freshly squeezed or from a bottle, lemon juice is a simple, natural herbicide,” he revealed.
Boiling water: “Pouring boiling water on weeds can kill them instantly without harming nearby plants,” he said.
Diluted rubbing alcohol: “Spray this solution on weeds to induce water loss and effectively kill them,” he said.
Hand-picking: “Focus on removing them early, especially notorious ones like dandelions, to prevent seeds from scattering,” he said.
DeBoer said a green and healthy surface is achieved by routinely feeding your lawn.
He recommended buying an organic fertilizer from a department store or home improvement warehouse.
He said this prevents weeds from growing, helps promote “long-term lawn health,” and doesn’t pose a threat to surrounding wildlife.
“Once you have followed these basic steps, don’t neglect to mow your lawn regularly,” DeBoer said.
“We recommend once every 1-2 weeks depending upon the amount of rain and growth you get in your area.
“This creates and maintains a tidy appearance while encouraging the roots to spread, helping prevent the growth of weeds and keeping those bare patches at bay.”
