A BARGAIN hunter has revealed the four beauty buys that she claims are a waste of money.
So if the cost-of-living crisis is making your purse feel tighter than ever before, and you’re looking to cut costs, then you’ve come to the right place.
Kathryn Leech, who is known online as ‘Kat Saves’, shared the four beauty buys that she thinks aren’t worth the cash.
The money-saving whizz and sustainable shopper, who is from the UK, regularly shares her top tips and tricks on ‘how to shop smarter and save money’ on social media.
In light of this, Kat recently took to TikTok, where she posted under the username @katsaves and penned: “What NOT to buy to save money on beauty products.”
If you are someone who uses make-up remover on a cotton pad, then you’ll need to think again.
Kat claimed: “Re-purchasing these over and over again wil add up.”
She then advised: “Get reusable pads instead.”
Similar to this, Kat also isn’t a fan of make-up wipes.
As a result of these products being suitable for one use only, Kat continued: “Similar to point number one, single use products are a waste of money.”
For skincare lovers that love sheet masks – prepare to be attacked.
The money-saving whizz shared her thoughts on sheet masks, and what she would buy instead.
She added: “You’ll see more benefit buying a serum that you can keep using, rather than a single use mask.”
Finally, if you have blackheads on your nose and want to give pore strips a try, you might want to listen up.
According to this beauty lover and savvy shopper, an oil cleanser is much more affordable in the long run.
She claimed: “These are actually quite bad for your skin, using an oil cleanser works safer and is better value for money.”
But it’s not just these beauty buys that Kat isn’t keen on – previously, the shopper revealed the four supermarket buys that she thinks should be avoided by those on budget.
According to this shopper, although ready meals are super convenient, they’re a waste of cash, as she claimed: “You can make your own pasta, pasta bake, lasagne, so much cheaper and you get so much more for your money.”
Not only this, but Kat also advised shoppers to avoid branded pizzas, and instead, opt for supermarket own-brand pizzas.
As well as this, when it comes to fruit, Kat claimed that bananas in plastic packaging are a waste of money, and in fact, it’s cheaper to “buy them loose”.
Finally, Kat claimed that it’s time to ditch the three pack of onions, as she concluded: “Those onions that come in a pack of three are literally such a waste of money.
“It is so much better value and so much cheaper if you buy them loose or if you buy them in the kg bags.”
