THE Met Office has revealed the exact places snow will fall today as it warned of frost, hail and thunder.
The forecaster said sunshine and showers would be seen right across the UK throughout Saturday afternoon.
Brits could also expect some hail, thunder and even hill snow in the north.
The Met Office’s UK weather map shows snow is set to fall across Scotland – from north of Glasgow to the highlands.
Meanwhile a brisk north to northwesterly wind will make temperatures of 8 to 10°C feel more like 3 to 5°C.
The Environment Agency has issued three flood warnings and 63 alerts in the last 24 hours following concerns over showers.
Met Office meteorologist Marco Petagna said: “You’ll certainly need to wrap up warm if you’re heading out and about this afternoon.”
He continued: “As we head into the evening and through the night we’ll continue see a lot of showers across the UK again feeding in from the north and northwest.
“Still some heavy ones around for some time.”
However tomorrow showers will become more focused in the north and northwest and a touch of frost is likely by Sunday.
A spokesperson for the Met Office told The Sun: “Over the weekend we are likely to see a mix of sunshine and blustery showers, with some of these showers a wintry mix of rain, sleet, hail and snow.
“Any snowfall is generally going to be confined to higher ground in the north, with lower levels seeing a mix of rain, sleet and hail.
“Any lying snow will most likely be restricted to high ground in Scotland and possibly high ground in the far north of England.
“The main impacts for most people will be that it will be feeling much colder than it currently is feeling with a return of some overnight frosts.”
Meanwhile millions of Brits are being warned they could face a Bank Holiday washout.
With the four-day weekend just around the corner, much of the country was hoping for sunny spells and warmer temperatures.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said it will be “unsettled across the majority of the UK” next week.
Strong gusts of winds and intense rain is expected to batter Brits in the run-up to the mini break.
The weather service said: “Through the bank holiday weekend and into the following week, unsettled or changeable weather remains the most likely outcome.
“All areas are likely to see further rain or showers at times, with some drier spells in between, but wet weather will tend to favour the southwest while northern parts remain a bit drier on average.”
Today:
