PRINCE William appeared “commanding” as he made an urgent speech on the environment this evening, without the presence of Princess Kate, a body language expert has said.
William appeared in London on Monday evening at a launch event for his environmental competition, the Earthshot prize.

Judi said: “William’s speaking style looks commanding despite all the ongoing pressures of his family life.
“This is a small lectern for a tall man but his gesticulation and his facial expressions suggest he is totally focused on and committed to his much-loved cause.
“His brows are raised in an emphatic gesture and his left hand is raised to give his message power and emphasis.”
She continued: “Like Harry with Invictus, Earthshot seems to be William’s go-to place in terms of focus and commitment and might even give him an escape from the health worries and challenges of royal life.”
Prince William set up the Earthshot Prize in 2020, and each year, five winners are awarded for their contributions towards environmentalism.
In an impassioned speech at tonight’s event, William said: “This is urgent. We are in a critical decade now.
“And that is why, to have real impact, we must focus on supporting and developing as many solutions as possible and scale them at speed.”
The Prince’s confidence differs from his demeanour earlier today, when he attended the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey, also without the presence of his wife.
Discussing William’s body language at the service, Judi said: “William arrived looking so solitary and newly-slimmer with his grin fixed firmly in place, although he was straightening his tie with one hand, which formed a barrier-excuse ritual, meaning the slight feeling of self-protection that comes from lifting the arm up in front of the body during moments of pressure.”
Princess Kate was spotted with her husband in the back of a black Land Rover just moments before William’s arrival at the Commonwealth Day event, but was said to be attending a “private appointment” instead of the service.
The Commonwealth event was the first time the royals had been seen since Kate sparked an online storm when she shared a Photoshopped family snap to celebrate Mother’s Day.
She was then forced to apologise after admitting she had “experimented with editing“.
The Princess of Wales has not attended any royal engagements since she had planned abdominal surgery back in January.
At the time of the operation, Kensington Palace said that she was unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.
A statement from the palace read: “The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements.
“She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
Despite this, rumours and conspiracy theories about the Princess of Wales’ health have been swirling online.
The rumours have been described as “utter madness” by palace aides.
