Love Island alumni Anna Vakili has given her verdict on Jake Cornish’s exit[/caption]Anna, who starred in the fifth season of Love Island, has now had her say on why she believes he left.
Speaking in her podcast Sisters In The City, which she records with her sister Mandi, 33-year-old Anna said: “I feel so bad for him.
“The first time [he was on], he got so much s***. The amount of trolling…he was getting death threats after the whole Liberty thing.
“And now he’s gone back on it and I could feel it off the screen that he felt uncomfortable and lonely.”
She went on: “You know what it is when you can’t be yourself? You’re so down and feeling so uncomfortable that you can’t be yourself or let your own personality come out.”
Mandi added: “He probably wanted to say something about the little jokes or comments that are being made but he can’t, because he’s so scared of being cancelled or getting threats again.”
Anna replied: “What he had was so bad last time that it probably had an affect on him. I just hope he’s okay.”
Jake had spent just three days in the Love Island All Stars villa when he announced he was leaving.
It came after he discovered the public had coupled him up with his ex-girlfriend Liberty.
Both had starred on the seventh series of Love Island had were on course to win the show.
But just days before the final, Liberty walked out – with Jake following behind.
The former water engineer found himself under attack for his treatment of Liberty, which included conversations with his guy mates of him not being ‘sexually attracted to her’.
Jake was even branded a “narcissist” and was accused of “gas-lighting” Liberty during the 2021 series.
Following his departure from the All Stars villa, Jake said in a statement that he quit because he didn’t have a “connection” with anyone.
“After a few amazing days in the villa, I’ve made the decision to leave Love Island: All Stars as I’ve realised that now isn’t the right time for me to find love as I would never want to force a connection,” he said in a statement.
“I have no regrets whatsoever as I’m so glad I got to enjoy my time in the villa reuniting with some familiar faces as well as finally getting an opportunity to clear the air with Liberty.
“I wish her and all of the other islanders the very best and will be cheering them all on from home.”
Jake has now spoken exclusively to The Sun’s Cracking On podcast and described Liberty as being “a bit bitter” in Cape Town.
