A FAMILY of three was ready to build their dream home.
In just five months, they turned a self-described “disaster” of a space into a modern haven, complete with new floors and walls.
A creative and DIY-loving couple shared the home renovation that they’re so proud of[/caption]A couple (@mjhomes) with a passion for flipping homes revealed their latest transformation that left viewers in awe of their skill.
Husband and wife duo Aun and Manal were a bit horrified by the space they walked into.
With old, worn-out carpet floors, drab wallpaper, and dated furniture, it wasn’t exactly what they were looking for.
The space featured a classic decorating faux pas that many designers have spoken about, with one even calling it jail worthy: short curtains that only cover a portion of the window.
Besides that mistake, there was also old-school lighting and clutter everywhere.
Luckily, Aun and Manal had a good eye and were willing to take on the challenge.
“Took us five months to turn this disaster of a home into…” they began in the clip.
When the frame changed, they flaunted their renovation.
The beige carpet was ripped out and the floors were now a light shade of wood.
The wallpaper was gone and the fresh, white walls now featured decorative moldings.
There was a built-in fireplace, sleek shelves featuring sculptural decorations, clean-lined furniture, and the archaic chandelier was replaced by a more modern fixture.
Still, the couple said there was one detail they didn’t want to get rid of and were thrilled to keep: the large bay window.
Viewers were impressed by their timely project.
“Love it. Looks like somewhere you want to be every day,” one wrote.
“So so beautiful. You did that fast,” added another.
