VIRAL fashion brands are tough to escape, especially when they pop up in TikTok and Instagram ads every time you scroll.
One fashion influencer was eager to try a brand’s new plus-size line, and she found some hits – but some major misses, too.
Sierra Schultzzie has an impressive wardrobe of stylish finds, and her 1.2million YouTube subscribers love her candid reviews.
In a recent video, Schultzzie got “brutally honest” about Cider, a fashion brand she just couldn’t escape online.
Schultzzie said she had been “bombarded” with ads for fast-fashion companies for months, but up until recently, she never planned to try them.
“I get ads for a lot of them, and pretty much none of them carry my size,” Schultzzie explained. But when Cider announced a plus-size line, she placed an order and wound up with six brand-new outfits.

The first piece of clothing she tried on was a cream sweater adorned with cherries, which Schultzzie bought in a size XXXL for $26.
“I am so pleasantly surprised,” Schultzzie said as she tried the cropped sweater on. “It is very thick, it feels very nice.”
Her only concern was that she’d ordered the sweater in a larger size than normal in hopes that it would have an oversized fit, but the cropped top ran smaller than anticipated.
Luckily, the high quality of the materials and good construction of the garment more than made up for the sizing issue. Schultzzie gave the sweater a 9/10 rating.
The next item was the cheapest piece in Schultzzie’s haul: a green plaid tank top in an XXL that cost $16. She loved it immediately.
“The fit is pretty much exactly what I’d expect from an XXL on me,” Schultzzie said, turning to show the back and sides of the picnic-ready shirt.
The material was thin and breathable – maybe even too breathable, Schultzzie admitted.
“The quality of this tank top is definitely not on the same level as the sweater,” she explained. Along with the thin fabric, which she wasn’t certain would hold up over time, Schultzzie noted that the heart-shaped buttons on the front were not spaced evenly.
Still, the darling top earned an 8/10 ranking from the delighted fashion blogger. “Some of these pieces need to start sucking,” she said. “Otherwise this isn’t going to be very brutal.
As though she manifested it, Schultzzie’s next outfit was a total failure. “I think I spoke too soon. This kind of sucks,” she admitted.
She paired a spliced crop top $19, with a pair of plaid trousers, $28.
The top was an XXL while the pants were an XXXL – a sizing choice that left Schultzzie swimming.
“These feel like clown pants,” she cried, showing how far the super-long pants extended past her ankles. Even though the pants fit around her waist and seat, the cheap fabric didn’t feel good on her skin.
After ranking the pants a 4/10, she moved on to the shirt.
“I don’t have as many brutal things to say about the top,” Schultzzie said. It had exactly one major issue: it was way, way too short.
“If I raise my hands, you straight-up see my bra,” Schultzzie said, demonstrating for the camera. She still gave the shirt a 6.5/10 rating.
The next dress Schultzzie tried on actually wasn’t a dress at all.
The “sexy Rapunzel costume,” Schultzzie discovered as she unboxed it, was actually a romper. At $36, the XXL outfit was the most expensive item in the hall, but the blogger wasn’t impressed.
From loose threads and cheap synthetic fabric to a crooked zipper that was missing a clasp at the top, the “Rapunzel” outfit fell short of expectations.
Only the pretty pattern and the lacy petticoat underneath redeemed the “roller coaster” romper enough to score a 5/10 from Schultzzie.
Her next pick was a recreation of an iconic dress: the mini Jennifer Garner wears in 13 Going On 30.
Schultzzie was excited to find the dress for only $18 and bought it in an XXL.
“As iconic as this dress is, that does not outweigh some of the issues,” she warned.
The dress was extremely short. Without shorts underneath, Schultzzie revealed, it showed everything – even when she was just standing still.
On top of that, the cutout in the center was different from what was pictured on the website.
Though Schultzzie said she plans to pair the dress with shorts and wear it, she admitted that if it didn’t have the pattern from the movie, she wouldn’t want to keep it at all.
For the price and the accuracy to the film, Schultzzie gave the dress a 7/10.
Finally, Schultzzie tried on a collared knit midi dress in an XXL.
She was immediately impressed by the fit of the $30 dress.
“Everything else I tried on skewed on the smaller side,” she said, but in the final dress, “I feel like I have plenty of room.”
Even though it was comfortable and very stylish, Schultzzie recognized it wasn’t her own personal style.

She described it as “Morticia Addams as a soccer mom,” and gave it a 7/10.
That’s in line with what Schultzzie ranked Cider as a whole: it was hit-or-miss, and she said she wouldn’t order from the brand again unless there were plenty of reviews from real shoppers to read.
