THIS dad and daughter have performed surgery together — after she followed in his footsteps into the operating theatre.
Roger Hackney, 64, and daughter Rosie, 30, are believed to be the only father and daughter orthopaedic surgeons in the UK.
They did keyhole surgery on two patients after Roger asked her to join him at Nuffield Health, Leeds.
Rosie has a medical degree and is doing her orthopaedic surgical training.
She said: “My dad is very proud of having a daughter who is a surgeon.
“I loved seeing him work.”

Roger said: “It made me proud.”
“Quite a few doctors have their children follow them into medicine, but there are few that go into surgery.
“Rosie is one of three sisters. I always told them they’re just as good as all the boys.”
He added: “It is this sort of thing that shows women that they can go into orthopaedics.”
