CHELSEA are reportedly set to meet the representatives of Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao over a possible transfer to Stamford Bridge.
The 24-year-old centre back has three years left on his current deal at the Spanish giants.
Militao wants to stay at Madrid but contract talks have stalled[/caption]But he is said to be one of the squad’s lowest earning players with an annual salary of £2.5million.
It is thought that both the player and club want to renew the existing contract, but Marca reports that there have been no formal discussions so far.
It has been acknowledged by Madrid that Militao’s current wage is not in keeping with his influence on the team.
Militao tops the statistic for centre back with the most duels won in Europe’s top five leagues so far this season.
He has featured 34 times in all competitions and been a major reason why Carlo Ancelotti‘s side sit top of the LaLiga table.
However, with contract talks stalling there is a chance he may look at alternative options in the summer.

And while it is clear Militao does not want to leave – as he enjoys working under Ancelotti – the Brazilian has been eyed up by several of Europe’s giants.
Bayern Munich have previously been linked with a move for the South American.
But Chelsea are now thought to be the frontrunners and are set for a meeting with his agent.
Thomas Tuchel fears Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and club captain Cesar Azpilicueta could all leave at the end of the season when their contracts expire.
As well as Militao, the Blues have also been linked with moves for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and Juventus man Matthijs de Ligt.
