AN ACTOR who starred in Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun and Midnight Run has died.
Frank Pesce was 75 years old when he passed away from dementia complications, his girlfriend told Deadline.
The star died on February 6 in Burbank, California.
Pesce began his career in the mid-1970s when he guested on TV series Police Story and Kojak.
He then went on to appear in the early Sylvester Stallone films Rocky and Paradise Ally.
He also appeared in films such as American Gigolo, Young Doctors in Love and Vigilante.
This helped him secure his most recognizable role in Beverly Hills Cop – where he played a cigarette buyer in the opening scene.
He also played a bartender in Top Gun and later a brail jumper in Midnight Run.
As his career continued, he went on to work on more shows, including in 2010 when he had guest spots on Cagney & Lacey, Knight Rider, The Greatest American Hero, Matlock and Miami Vice.
Pesce was also a longtime friend of Sylvester Stallone, Tony Danza and the late Robert Forster.
Pesce is survived by his girlfriend, Tammy Scher, and his brother, Vito Pesce, nieces Vanessa and Danielle, and sister-in-law Catherine.
He will be buried on February 18 at Saint Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx.
