DEAR DEIDRE: I NEVER had any reason to distrust my partner until I discovered used pregnancy tests at the back of her wardrobe.
I’m 48, she’s 42 and we’ve been together for 13 years. When my girlfriend lost her job as an events planner at the start of the pandemic, she signed up to work at a local supermarket.
My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.

Despite the long and unsociable hours, she loved it and was always raving about how great her team was.
Within a couple of weeks, she was getting glammed-up for work, with make-up and perfect hair. And she stopped talking about the job, just saying: “You wouldn’t understand.”
If that was out of character, I then found three used pregnancy tests while I was putting her washing away.
We always use a condom, so I’m wondering if she’s been having unprotected sex with someone at work.
Sometimes her hours do seem excessively long and this would explain the effort in her appearance.
DEIDRE SAYS: Rather than winding yourself up with your own theories, talk to your girlfriend. Say you found the tests and ask if she was unfaithful.
But do remember that condoms are not foolproof, so your girlfriend might just have been checking she hadn’t got pregnant by accident.
Trust is key in a successful relationship, so I’m sending you the support pack Relationship MoT to help you get things back on track.
