RIVERDALE star Vanessa Morgan hinted that she is back with her husband Michael Kopech – just a week after giving birth to his child.
Vanessa, 28, welcomed baby River into the world on January 29 and said she and White Sox pitcher Michael were “loving being parents.”
The Canadian actress has continued to post updates about herself and Michael, despite him filing for divorce in June last year.
Alongside one shot of two glasses of champagne, Vanessa wrote: “Baby’s asleep, milk pumped, now mom and dad can relax.”
She also confirmed to fans that River’s name was a joint decision.
She said: “Early on in my pregnancy, I was walking to the River every day, [it] gave me so much peace. I knew that was the perfect name for his ‘lil soul.”
“Plus Michael & I really wanted a nature name.”
Fans are now wondering whether this means the showbiz couple are back together.
One tweeted: “Did Vanessa got back together with Michael?”
Another echoed this, adding: “Wait are michael and vanessa back together??”
A third even wrote on Instagram: “Wait didn’t he leave you and wanna divorce you.. so now he is present now that his baby boy is born? I hope he steps it up.”
Vanessa and MLB star Michael married on January 4, 2020, just six months after he proposed near the Grand Canyon.
But in July, the actress, who plays Toni Topaz in Riverdale, announced that she was expecting her first baby – and there as no mention of Michael.
She wrote on Instagram: “Exciting news… I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January.
“This little guy has already brought me so much happiness and a feeling of such a greater purpose. I cannot wait to meet you!!”
Just two days later, it was revealed that 24-year-old Michael had filed for divorce on June 19.
He reportedly filed the petition in Morris County, northeast Texas, where he grew up, despite now living in Chicago.
In December 2020, the district clerk in Morris County told the Chicago Tribune the case was pending, but declined to comment further.
The current status of the couple’s relationship remains unclear, as a result.
When announcing River’s arrival, Vanessa was however keen to namecheck her estranged husband.
She wrote on Instagram: “The most challenging, beautiful experience of my life.
“On January 29th, Michael & I Welcomed our beautiful baby boy River into the world. Words cannot describe this kind of love.
“We are enjoying this time home with him, being present, & giving him all the lovin in the world.”
She added: “Becoming parents is the most rewarding gift in the entire world. Thank you God.”
