Following Ranvir and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice’s romantic routine this evening, host Claudia Winkleman surprised the star with the video.
In the clip, Kate told Ranvir: “Ranvir, the semi finals?
“This is unbelievable, I mean it’s not though, is it, because you are unbelivable.
“It’s just so fantastic watching you, you are amazing, we all know you are amazing and now the world knows it too.
“It’s just brilliant, good luck, hope you get to the final but whatever happens you are the absolute winner of this series.”
Reacting to the thoughtful message, Ranvir gushed: “We all know what she is going through, she typifies what everyone is going through this year.
“Actually it’s so wonderful that she found the time to think of me.
“That is her all over, so thank you so much to Kate, that meant so much. “
Ranvir wowed the judges with her and Giovanni’s romantic performance[/caption] She and Kate work together on Good Morning Britain[/caption]And viewers were just as touched by the clip, flocking to Twitter to share their reaction.
One fan wrote: “That says a lot about Kate Garraway as a person to make time for Ranvir given what she’s going through with her husband’s recovery from Covid.”
Another added: “Kate Garraway going through hell but still thinking of Ranvir Singh.”
Kate’s husband Derek remains in intensive care after being rushed to hospital with coronavirus in March.
Derek is the UK’s longest surviving Covid-19 patient and remains in critical condition.
Kate recently told how Derek can finally breathe on his own after seven months in intensive care, with coronavirus ravaging his lungs, heart, kidneys, liver and pancreas.
Derek has also been confirmed as type one diabetic – despite not having diabetes before Covid, and remains in a form of coma called PDOC (Prolonged Disorder of Consciousness).
Kate told The Sun that she feels like she’s hanging over a cliff-edge yelling “don’t let go” as she attempts to pull Derek back after his breakthrough.
