DONALD Trump’s lawyer has called for Bill Barr to be “investigated” as speculation has mounted that the president may fire the attorney general.
Jenna Ellis, a senior legal adviser for President Trump’s campaign, suggested on Friday morning that a probe should be launched into Attorney General Bill Bar.
Jenna Ellis has suggested that a probe should be launched into AG Bill Bar[/caption] Trump told reporters on Thursday to ‘ask him in a couple weeks’ about his confidence in AG Bill Bar[/caption] The president has reportedly not ruled out getting rid of Bill Bar[/caption]Ellis, a staunch supporter of the president, revealed her thoughts on Twitter as she retweeted a post from the House Judiciary GOP.
The House Judiciary GOP tweet read: “Today would be a good day for @RepJerryNadler to launch an investigation into election integrity.”
Three minutes after it was shared, Ellis retweeted it and wrote: “Or Bill Bar.”
Ellis’ tweet doesn’t come as a surprise as she has frequently used Twitter to back up President Trump’s claims of voter fraud after his loss to Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
Her statement comes one day after an administration official and two people familiar with the situation reportedly revealed that the president has not ruled out getting rid of Barr.
The reports follow the AG’s recent statement about how he has not found any evidence of the widespread fraud Trump has repeatedly alleged on Twitter.
Trump’s continued election fraud claims followed an ‘intense’ meeting with Bill Barr this week[/caption]On Friday afternoon, Ellis also took to Twitter to express her dismay in the Wall Street Journal for allegedly leaving out “key details” about her work history.
She slammed the news organization for “trying to pretend” she “went directly from low-level ‘traffic court’ to being the President’s lawyer.”
Ellis added: “I have a pretty cool story and God is good, but THAT would have been amazing!”
The 36-year-old legal adviser is an author and has published a book titled The Legal Basis for a Moral Constitution: A Guide for Christians to Understand America’s Constitutional Crisis.
She joined the Trump campaign a year ago.
Insiders told NBC News this week that a call to fire Barr would be made by Trump – but sources also noted that this is not expected to happen anytime soon.
Ellis, left, is a a staunch supporter of the president[/caption]When the president was questioned on Thursday by Kristen Welker, an NBC News White House Correspondent, on whether he maintained confidence in Barr, Trump said: “Uh, ask me that in a number of weeks from now.”
“They should be looking at all of this fraud. This is not civil; he thought it was civil,” he continued. “This is not civil; this is criminal stuff. This is very bad criminal stuff.
Trump’s continued election fraud claims followed “intense” meeting with Barr on Wednesday.
Sources told ABC News about the allegedly fiery exchange between the attorney general and Trump – but didn’t reveal any more information on their meeting.
In a Tuesday interview with The Associated Press, Barr said that there have been no claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
President Trump spoke at the White House on Thursday[/caption]Barr said: “To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election.
“There’s a growing tendency to use the criminal justice system as sort of a default fix-all, and people don’t like something they want the Department of Justice to come in and ‘investigate.’
“Most claims of fraud are very particularized to a particular set of circumstances or actors or conduct. They are not systemic allegations.
“And those have been run down; they are being run down. Some have been broad and potentially cover a few thousand votes. They have been followed up on.”
Barr’s comments reportedly irritated the president, sources told NBC.
His interview comes amid Trump’s repeated claims that the election was stolen, and his refusal to concede his loss to President-Elect Joe Biden.
