JON Gosselin has accused ex-wife Kate of giving their son Collin post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after “abusing him.”
The former reality star was “under investigation” after an alleged violent altercation that took place earlier this month.
But after Kate spoke out against her ex-husband and said she didn’t want my children around him,” Jon has hit back.
“The article was wrong, it said there was an ongoing investigation which there isn’t and they only took Collin’s words from the police report. Kate was fueling it, sticking the boot in,” Jon said.
“She hasn’t seen Collin in five years and now she’s going to try to come out as the caring mother when in fact the reason Collin is struggling with mental illness is because she abused him.”
Speaking to Daily Mail, he added: “He has PTSD because of her. So I’m not going to sit back and not defend myself or my family.”
Kate has always denied abusing any of her children.
Jon went on to claim that Collin had lashed out during a family day trip on September and he had been forced to restrain his son.
Collin’s sister Hannah was also there and reportedly gave a statement to the police.
Jon alleged the investigation is “not ongoing” and “the matter was shelved within 24 hours.”
He added: “I really didn’t want to have to come out and talk about this for Collin’s sake, but when Kate is in the media attacking me, calling me a child abuser, I have to defend myself.
“I love my son and I would never hurt him.”
He alleged a verbal spat between the two siblings began in the car but it escalated when they arrived home.
“We’ve had problems with Collin in the past running away and I was worried, he was upset so I restrained him,” he continued.
“I didn’t punch or kick him, I restrained him, which he obviously wasn’t happy about.
“I restrained him and then I backed away, because you never want to restrain your kids, it’s the most heart-wrenching thing you ever have to do.”
Collin allegedly called the police on his father and claimed Jon has punched him and kicked him.
“He was just p***ed off because he didn’t get his way. He was out of line and he’s just making stuff up,” said Jon, adding that Collin threatened to make th allegations on social media.
In a deleted Instagram post, Collin wrote: “My dad is a liar. Yesterday he beat me up and thought nothing of it, he punched me in the face and gave me a swollen nose and I started bleeding. He then continued to kick me in the ribs after I was on the floor. He is a liar.”
“Hannah told them I didn’t hit Collin and the police could see there were no marks or bruises on him,” Jon concluded, revealing the officer was required to report the incident to CYS.
“The CYS came out and interviewed us and they also spoke to Collin’s mother Kate and his other siblings and that was the end of it, the claims were unfounded.”
Jon has custody of Collin and Hannah, whle Kate has custody of the four other sextuplets; their 19-year-old twins also live with Kate.
Kate placed Collin in an inpatient special needs program for two years before he went to live with his father.
Jon has since claimed Kate has “no contact” with Collin.
Reps for Kate did not respond to requests for comment.
