TIME Out founder Tony Elliott has died at the age of 73.
The magazine entrepreneur passed away on Thursday after a “long battle” with lung cancer, Time Out chief executive Julio Bruno confirmed on LinkedIn.

He put together the first issue from his mum’s kitchen table, which focused on youth fashion and culture in London.
It soon grew into a huge global media brand, printing in hundreds of countries and covering everything from food and drink to music and culture.
In a long statement, Time Out announced the death of their “visionary publisher” and a “champion of city culture”.

The statement read: “It is with great sadness that we announce that Time Out’s founder Tony Elliott passed away on July 16, after a long illness.
“Tony was a visionary publisher, a tireless champion of city culture and a staunch friend.
“He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
“His life and his work inspired millions of people who did not have the good fortune to know him personally.”
