IT’S your clucky day. Yep, that’s right, today is National Fried Chicken Day.
But while we all love a fast-food fix, especially during these challenging times, you need not fork out for a pricey takeaway.
Make your favourite chicken dishes while on a budget with our cash-saving tips[/caption]Here’s how you can enjoy your favourite dishes while making tasty savings . . .
TUESDAY TREAT: I love a bit of KFC so the return of the restaurant chain’s Chicken Tuesdays has ruffled my feathers. You can now peck up nine pieces of original recipe chicken for just £5.99 on Tuesdays until August 18. The same feast usually costs £15.57. To claim, just head to a restaurant, as a walk-in or drive-thru customer.

WING IT: If you’d rather pick up your chicken fix from the supermarket, I’m a big fan of Asda’s Takeaway Southern Fried Chicken Wings, £2. It’s perfect for a night in and cheaper than the SFC Southern Fried Chicken Wings takeaway box from Sainsbury’s, at £3.

FRY, OH FRY: Fancy doing your own DIY fried chicken, cheaply and easily?
Knock up a more healthy version with just three ingredients. All you need is deboned chicken thighs with skin on (the fattier thigh meat works best), sea salt and ground black pepper.
Evenly salt both sides of your chicken, before placing each piece skin-side down in the pan and allow to cook for around 15 minutes (until the skin is easy to remove from the pan surface). Once it stops sticking and is nice and brown, it’s ready to be flipped on the other side for another five minutes until golden brown. Remove from the pan and season well with black pepper.
CASH BACK: Have a favourite when it comes to a local takeaway service? If your venue of choice features on justeat.co.uk you can currently get up to 24.75 per cent cashback when you order via a new topcashback.co.uk account.
