THIS weekend proud parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will see their firstborn Archie Harrison christened in a private ceremony.
And despite the couple revealing that they plan to keep Archie’s godparents a secret speculation is mounting over who might take the role with Meghan’s best pal Jessica Mulroney proving the bookies favourite.
The Canadian stylist has been fuelling rumours that she will be godmother after some unusual Instagram activity.
Earlier today the mum-of-three shared a cryptic post reading: “Don’t take criticism from anyone you wouldn’t go to for advice.”
Just 35 minutes later she had deleted the post, with fans speculating as to whether she was referring to the so-called “royal rift” between Harry, Meghan, Kate Middleton and Prince William.
According to Hello! Jessica, 37, also dropped a major hint that she had flown to the UK ahead of the baptism which is due to take place on Saturday.
The magazine reports that she shared an Instagram post captioned “I won’t be back with my family for a while so this ends the Instagram session of mum losing her [poop-emoji]”
Fans immediately questioned whether this might mean she is heading to London for the weekend.
One wrote: “I hope you’re going where I think you might be going!! Love love love.”
“Can’t wait to see what you and Meghan have decided to wear for the day!!!” commented another.
However, this post too appears to have since been deleted. Fabulous Digital has contacted Jessica Mulroney’s representatives for a comment.
It comes after Serena Williams revealed that she would not be attending the christening as she is “busy working.”
The champ, who has known Meghan Markle for ten years, was rumoured to be one of the mystery godparents when the royal baby is christened in private tomorrow.
This was further fuelled by the Duchess of Sussex making a surprise appearance at Wimbledon yesterday to watch Williams beat Kaja Juvan in three sets.
But she laughed off the claims at a post-Wimbledon press conference, saying: “No, I’m working on Saturday.”
Meghan was flanked at the tournament by friends Lindsay Roth and Genevieve Hillis, who are both in the running for godmother.
One possible godmother is Meghan’s LA friend Benita Litt, whose daughters were bridesmaids at Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
Another American, Lindsay Roth – at whose wedding Meghan was her bridesmaid – could also be picked.
She attended Northwestern University in Illinois with Meghan – along with Genevieve Hillis, who is also rumoured to be a candidate.
Harry’s childhood chum Jake Warren, whose two-year-old daughter Zalie, was a bridesmaid at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding, is hotly tipped.
And Mark Dyer, a former Welsh Guards officer who is close to Harry and whose son Jasper is the prince’s godson, could also get the nod.
Harry and Meghan have sparked controversy by choosing to keep the ceremony private and withhold the names of Archie’s godparents.
The Archbishop of Canterbury will christen the royal baby at the Private Chapel in Windsor Castle.
In other royal news, we told you how Archie will be christened on the same royal gown worn by Kate’s three children.
And Meghan and Harry “need to be more visible” like The Queen, a royal commentator has claimed.
