STACEY Solomon shared an adorable snap of her son Rex’s first smile today but boyfriend Joe Swash admitted he was “gutted” to miss it after jetting to Rome to film for This Morning.
The Loose Women star, 29, called the picture her “favourite ever” and said she would use it as motivation to get her through the more difficult parts of raising a newborn.
She wrote on Instagram: “They say he’s got windy smiles, I say he’s having happy thoughts 
This is probably my favourite picture ever. I keep looking at it and smiling. I’ll be using this to get me through the night feeds from now on! 
.”
In the image Rex can be seen nestling into Stacey’s chest as she kisses the top of his head.
Stacey followed it with: “Soooo many lovely comments. Thank you 
I can’t reply to them all as he’s mid poop (hurray for poop when your not sure if you’re making enough milk) so I’m going to put my phone down and enjoy watching him do a poo 
love u all .”
Joe also shared the picture but cursed his luck that he wasn’t there to see it in person.
He said: “How is my luck. I Had 2 go away for work and Rex has his first smile 
gutted 
.”
Meanwhile Stacey finally left the house today for the first time since giving birth four weeks ago.
She previously admitted that she was scared to go outside with her “vulnerable” newborn in case it was too “dirty”.
However, she has now updated her followers to reveal that her mum had forced her to take the baby for a walk and she couldn’t be happier.
Sharing a photo of herself beaming in a forest, carrying her son in a papoose, Stacey wrote: “We did it!!!! Yaaaay! Joe Joe left for a week away working this morning, then the boys went off to their daddy’s for the weekend.
“So my mummy came over and dragged me out for an evening stroll! I’m so glad she did. I love the woods. I forgot how good they smell. That was just the best.#
“Everyone was right, I am now thinking I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner.”
The star went on to admit that she’d enjoyed keeping her bundle of joy all to herself for a month, adding: “But actually I’m so glad that we’ve been able to stay lost in our own world for the last four weeks and now I am excited to take Rex on adventures outside of our front room.
“Today the woods opposite our house, tomorrow who knows!”
Stacey concluded her inspiring post by pointing out that she was wearing her PJs in the snap, joking: “Still haven’t managed to wear more than pyjamas though.”
Stacey welcomed baby Rex last month, giving birth more than two weeks early.
She has since delighted fans with her candid updates, sharing searingly honest posts and videos about motherhood to her Instagram page.
Earlier this week, the Loose Women panellist confessed that she feared taking Rex outside, writing: “I just have these weird thoughts that someone might see us all vulnerable, or that it might be too dirty outside, or that there might be some kind of air born virus going around outside my front door.
“Believe me I am totally aware of how crazy that sounds.”
Stacey previously admitted that she was struggling with breastfeeding as she opened up about “engorged boobs, cracked nipples, and no sleep whatsoever”.
She went on to reveal that she found herself “sobbing into her mum’s arms at least twice a day”.
In fact, the star even held off announcing her son’s name to the world until his official due date because she was “hormonal”.
Rex is Stacey’s first child with Joe, and she is also mum to 11-year-old Zachary, and seven-year-old Leighton from previous relationships.
Joe, 37, is also dad to 12-year-old Harry, who he shares with ex Emma Sophocleous.
