OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has told Manchester United to sell Paul Pogba to the highest bidder in a desperate bid to raise funds, according to reports.
The wantaway Frenchman seems set on leaving Old Trafford this summer with Real Madrid and Juventus fighting it out over a £150million transfer.
The 26-year-old reportedly phoned Maurizio Sarri as he attempts to force through a move away from Old Trafford and Solskjaer is prepared to let him go.
The Norwegian is desperate to raise funds for new signings to boost his pitiful £100m transfer budget, according to the Daily Star.
Pogba has refused to pledge his future to United and fuelled rumours above a move away last weekend when he admitted he was contemplating a “new challenge”.
He returned from Juventus back to Manchester United for £89million in 2016.
But after three years, he is now looking for a transfer away – and is keen to head back to Turin, with Real Madrid also interested in the World Cup winner.
Los Blancos went in with a £90m bid – just £1m more than United paid for him in 2016 – but that offer was immediately rejected.
United insist he is still not for sale but an offer of £150m is thought to be enough to convince the Red Devils to let the Team of the Year midfielder go.
Solskjaer’s side were said to be willing to pay Pogba £500,000-per-week to keep hold of him next season but the former Cardiff boss is under pressure to overhaul his squad.
Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici then confirmed interest in re-signing their former star by saying “he has given us a lot, he has grown with us, we love him.”
It was rumoured the Old Lady could offset the heavy transfer fee by offering Douglas Costa in a player-plus-cash deal.
The pacy winger scored just one goal and failed to make an assist during a disappointing 2018/19 campaign after his £41m move from Bayern Munich.
Yet as things stand, Pogba is set to return to Carrington for pre-season training at the beginning of July before the squad fly to Australia, China and Singapore.
