CHELSEA failed to take full advantage of Manchester United and Arsenal’s slip-ups as Burnley threw the race for fourth-place wide open.
Maurizio Sarri’s side were twice stunned by the Clarets as they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
The result was enough to lift them into fourth, but the Gunners can overtake and Red Devils can move level on points with them if they both win their games in hand.
And things got even worse for Sarri as both Callum Hudson-Odoi and N’Golo Kante limped off injured as fears mount they could miss both the Prem run-in and next week’s Europa League semi-final first-leg with Frankfurt.
Burnley’s Jeff Hendrick’s volley silenced the Bridge after just six minutes but Kante soon had the hosts level.
Then it looked to be business as usual as Gonzalo Higuain turned the scoreline on its head within minutes.
But Barnes lashed home to put Burnley level again on 25 minutes and that is how it remained throughout.
