DEAR DEIDRE: EVER since I had sex with my straight best friend, he’s been awkward around me.
I’m a guy of 21 and he’s 22. He fully accepts that I’m gay. He has a girlfriend but has told me he isn’t happy with her.
Recently when he was drunk one night he said he wanted to try intimate things with me. We had sex.
He was sober enough to know what he was doing and seemed to enjoy it as much as me.
I’ve tried talking to him since but he just doesn’t want to know.
I am so in love with this guy, I can’t think of anything else besides him.
DEIDRE SAYS: If your best friend was just experimenting, I am afraid you’re going to get hurt.
Decide this is going to be strictly friends only and look for a relationship elsewhere.
If he makes a move again, be clear that you want some commitment and won’t let him just use you when he feels down. My e-leaflet on Gay Worries will help.
