FORMER World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall has no expectations when it comes to his son following in his footsteps.
Ten-year-old Maximus Hall may already be able to deadlift 154 pounds, but Eddie is keen to avoid piling on undue pressure.

Eddie added: “I never mention it. I never sort of, push it at all.
“At the minute it is just me and him in the gym, spending time together, training, keeping him off his Xbox and PC.”
The 36-year-old went on to explain that “I’m actually quite against it when people say in the gym, and someone will come up and go, say to my son, ‘Oh, are you gonna be the next World’s Strongest Man? Are you gonna be the next one to pull five hundred kilos?’
“We’ll just sort of brush it off. And then when I see him on my own, I’m like, ‘Will you, will you, would you mind shutting the f**k up and not saying that to my son please?'”
“Because he puts pressure on him. And I don’t want pressure on my 10-year-old son. It’s f**king wrong.”
But while Eddie is keen to ensure Maximus is simply enjoying himself at this moment in time, should he eventually want to become a Strongman, Eddie seemed confident his son has the talent.
“He’s strong. So, if he wanted to pursue Strongman when he is older, he’s definitely got the tools and the knowledge and the resources to do so.”
And this strength was made apparent in Maximus’ most recent YouTube video.
Training alongside his dad, he was able to deadlift 154 pounds – something Eddie described as “really, really impressive.”
Meanwhile, Eddie is focusing on his ongoing bodybuilding journey.
Working his way through the “horrendous” and “painful” training required, he plans to “do a bodybuilding show in the not-so-distant future.”
After this, Eddie kept the door open to a return to boxing, adding that this was “something I might pick up after the bodybuilding adventure again.”
