Service members, military assets presence surges at Texas Border
There are thousands of #Texas #NationalGuard Soldiers & Airmen working side-by-side with partner local, state and federal agencies as part of the combined effort to deter criminal activity along the Texas-Mexico border.

The #Texas#NationalGuard is serving along @TxDPS in support of #OperationLoneStar and has provided more than 80,500 reports leading to apprehension, referral or turn backs of illegal border crossings since March 2021.
Since March 2021, the @TXMilitary Department has apprehended or referred more than 2,000 individuals per week for illegally crossing into #Texas from Mexico.
The #Texas #NationalGuard engineer force is trained to construct expeditionary and temporary structures and barriers as part of their base skill set. This expertise is being employed in support of #OperationLoneStar along the Texas-Mexico border.
Gov. Abbott signed a law that makes it easier to prosecute human smugglers in Texas. The Texas Dept. of Public Safety, along with the Texas Guard, will be arresting anyone caught smuggling illegal immigrants into our state. They will be put behind bars, no catch & release.
