Active Shooter at Naval Air Station – Corpus Christi Neutralized
Update: The active shooter is neutralized, however the scene is not clear. Remain in a lockdown status. For your safety, do not move around the base unless cleared to do so. Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.
Naval Security Forces at NAS Corus Christi responded to an active shooter at approximatel 6:15 a.m. this morning. The shooter has been neutralized. All gates on the installation remain closed while first responders process the scene. NCIS and local law enforcement are on scene.
Modified Lockdown: persons needing to leave base are authorized to proceed directly to the Main (South Gate). All gates remain closed to inbound traffic. All personnel remaining on base should remain in place until the scene is declared safe.
A sailor injured Thursday morning by an unidentified active shooter at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas, is in good condition and expected to be released from the hospital later today, Navy officials told Navy Times
