End of Watch: Officer Breann Leath, National Guard Veteran Killed in Line of Duty
It is with a heavy heart that IMPD Chief Randal Taylor announces the untimely death of IMPD East District Officer Breann Leath.
Officer Leath was a loving mother. A veteran. Daughter of a public servant family. And the example of what an IMPD officer should be.

A subject inside opened fire, striking Officer Leath and a female resident of the apartment. Both were taken to a local hospital where Officer Leath succumbed to her wounds.
The subject was taken into custody.
Officer Leath was a veteran of the National Guard and had served with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department for three years. She is survived by one child and her parents, who both serve with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Officer Down Memorial Page below link:
