Three soldiers from the Minnesota National Guard were killed 5 Dec. when a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from the Minnesota National Guard’s Army Aviation Safety Facility in St. Cloud went down southwest of St. Cloud, Minnesota. Minnesota National Guard reporting.
On or about 2:05 p.m. on December 5, 2019, the Minnesota National Guard lost contact with a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter while it was conducting a maintenance test flight that originated from St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Today a Safety Investigation Team from the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center at Fort Rucker, AL, deployed to St. Cloud, MN, to lead the investigation of a mishap that occurred on Dec. 5, involving a UH-60L Black Hawk helicopter, that resulted in fatal injuries to three Soldiers.
The names of the deceased will be withheld pending next of kin notification. An investigation is currently being conducted. Additional details will be provided as information becomes available.
“Our Minnesota National Guard family is devastated by the deaths of these soldiers,” said Maj. Gen. Jon Jensen, the Adjutant General of the Minnesota National Guard. “Our priority right now is ensuring that our families are taken care of.”
